Living life on Lake Norman is truly one of the greater pleasures in life. Lake Norman is wonderful and has many benefits to those who choose to call it home. If you are considering relocating to the Lake Norman area, here are a few reasons we think you should make the move!
Best Boating Ever
Boating season is pretty much year round here at Lake Norman, but of course Spring through Fall offers the warmest days on the water. There are plenty of places nearby for you to rent a boat or store your own, and you can also visit Anchor Island where you can anchor your boat and have a great time. And if you’re looking for something with a little more solitude, you can enjoy sail boating well into the cooler months. Of course, there are plenty of other things for you to do on the water as well, like kayaking, paddle boarding, and rowing, to name a few.
Local Arts & Culture
You don’t need to live in a big city to partake of a diverse cultural arts experience. You can visit the Cornelius Art Center, Davidson College or the Mooresville Depot of Visual Arts Center, all which have a variety of exhibits on display for you to enjoy. You also can enjoy the local Gallery Crawls. There you will see many different types of art including local pottery, paintings, wood turning, sculptures, and photography. You can enjoy the art as a shopper or add your own artistic ability to the local wares!
If you’ve ever wanted to experience all four seasons, Lake Norman has them. From the spectacular color change of Fall to the delightful sight and smell of Spring, you will have a front row seat to the best that nature has to offer. The weather heats up in July and August, and of course, it wouldn’t be Winter without one month of real snowfall to cover the land in a blanket of white snow. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, you won’t find better or more beautiful weather than you will in the Lake Norman area. (Of course that’s just our opinion, but it’s totally accurate!)
There is plenty of variety when it comes to lifestyle in the Lake Norman Area. From lake life, arts and culture, fine and casual dining, to quiet country living and a fun nightlife, you can spend your time doing pretty much whatever you enjoy. Not only that, but the Carolinas are rich with heritage and history all within driving distance. And if you just can’t resist the lure of the big city, Charlotte is just a short drive away as well!
The Charlotte/Lake Norman area is home to approximately 80% of the auto racing industry. That means Nascar, drag racing and much more. So expect to see plenty of car collectors and enthusiasts regularly. Almost every night of the week during the summer and many other times throughout the year, you can find a cruise-in or gathering of car collectors.
