Take a stroll through any of our grocery or retail stores and you’ll already see red and pink valentines peeking at you. In the blink of an eye, we jumped from welcoming 2016 to celebrating Valentine’s Day. And here in beautiful Denver, North Carolina, there are many wonderful ways to celebrate with the one you love.
A Day (Or Night) On the Lake
It goes without saying that as the weather begins to (slowly) warm up, the lake will beckon more and more visitors. Since Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, you can surprise your loved one with a day or night at the lake. Pack a picnic basket, rent a boat, or lace up your hiking boots for a trek around the lake. Whatever you pick, make sure to turn off your cell phones so you can truly enjoy the company of your significant other while taking in the beauty of the lake and all she has to offer.
Perhaps Valentine’s Day would be best spent on the fairways and greens of the Cowans Ford Golf Club on Lake Norman. You’ll be able to take in the sights of the lake as you tee off. A friendly game of golf between you and your loved one could even turn into a couple’s date or an entire family outing.
A Night on the Town
Make reservations at your favorite local dining venue and take in some of the delicious cuisine that our quaint town has to offer. Homesteads is the newest restaurant in Denver, NC, (and we love it!) but if you’d like to know a few of our personal favorite restaurants, contact us because we would love to share them!
Take a Trip
Not only is Denver a fabulous place to stay and enjoy Valentine’s Day, but we are surrounded by other wonderful little communities with lots to share. A day trip to a nearby town could provide a unique and special day of fun, whether you are with “the one” you love, or a loved group of friends! One such event across the lake is the Lake Norman Brew Ha-Ha Tour. Celebrate Valentine’s Day by visiting four different breweries, enjoy appetizers, and get two behind the scenes brewery tours. Transportation is included. For the art lovers, in Davidson you can visit the exhibits at the William H. Van Every, Jr. and Edward M. Smith galleries.
There’s so much to do in Denver and the surrounding towns that no matter what you decide on, it is sure to be a special day for you and the one(s) you love.
